Democracy under pressure!
On April 9th every year, Mjøsvasen marks the events of 1940. It takes place in Hamar Theater and this year's event is titled: Democracy Under Pressure!
We have invited national and local resources and put together four events. 1: Business. 2: School. 3: The cultural and historically conscious. 4: The committed and socially conscious.
In Hamar, our democracy was put under the most pressure - both from outside and from within. In a crisis, leadership is needed. Who are you? What would you do? Who would you follow? Do you have trust?

What happened in 1935 - 1940? And what has happened 2021 - 2026?
Lage Thune Myrberget and Kristian Olstad Walberg will, in conversation with Julie Wilhelmsen (NUPI), Robert Mood (defense), Jens Olai Jenssen (former editor of Oppland Arbeiderblad) and Per Erik Olsen (author and historian), shed light on the events leading up to 1940 and where we stand today.

At our three events throughout the day, you will meet a collection of professionals who, in various ways, shed light on Norway's history and our own contemporary times.
Artistic team
The performance consists of a series of events throughout a dramatic day. To jump in time, we have a script and some actors who retell events. At the same time, several guests shed light on reflections and shed light on the responsibility that individuals were thrown into. Our democracy that was put under pressure!
